2011 Fiesta RS World Rally Car

The 2011-spec machine is the new contender in the FIA World Rally Championship, which starts February 10th. Team driver Mikko Hirvonen and Ford of Europe motorsport chief Gerard Quinn revealed the new car in the Abu Dhabi livery at the Autosport Show.

The Fiesta replaces the successful Focus as Ford’s WRC proposition, reason? the rules have changed to favour smaller-capacity engines.

The Ford team is the WRC’s most successful ever in terms of overall race wins. Abu Dhabi’s distinctive branding features strongly in the new-look livery and EcoBoost stickers promote the company’s new series of turbocharged engines – a tiny but highly-tuned 1.6 engine powers the Fiesta RS.
