Ford Racing 3

What's it about?

Pretty obvious really but don't be foolled by the cover, it's not all yank tanks, mustangs and thunderbirds. This time they have made some effort to appeal to the european market with serveral offerings such as the rs200 and racing puma, even a sierra cosworth.

It's just a shame they didn't go further with it, they seem to have added them at the last minute with no real thought I found the rs200 lumped in with the monster trucks on the off-road section! I understand the USA don't have an active rally scene but come on.

I found myself getting beaten by big clumsy pickup trucks while I was running the rs200 - don't think so!
But forgiving these problems it's actually quite good fun. I found the physics very arcade/drifty and the scenery was clumsy (hitting a clump of grass at over 100mph can bring you to an instant stop). But the cars looked pretty good and the courses were fun. I enjoyed wasting the mustangs with my RS Capri and jumping 800 ft in my racing puma again no colision damage but I can't see ford allowing you to smash up their cars till the break even in a game!

I can't help thinking though this game hasn't moved on like most other games it's still the same formula as the original. It's a real shame as it could be great, and come on I want to see the series one rs turbo to make an appearance in a racing game at some point or I am going to make my own!

It's worth a look if you are a big ford fan otherwise give it a miss or get CMR 05 instead.
