NEW FOCUS RS 2009

The official specifications for the new Ford Focus RS have now been released, and the car manages the expected full 300bhp from the modified 2.5-litre engine.

The key stats released by Ford are 300bhp, 324lb ft of torque, top speed of 163mph and 0-62mph in 5.9sec.

DELIVERY UPDATE 07th March

Our car has been delayed, build date is now May 09!
From what we can work out ford are releasing in batches, we are in the second.

Had a few requests asking which dealer my deposit is with, it's OMC Ford in Manchester. They are pushing Ford for a firm date.

There must be people at Ford who see this - If you read this PLEASE PLEASE GIVE ME A FIRM DELIVERY DATE - I am living on hire cars now as we have cleared out all our cars.



DELIVERY UPDATE 22nd Feb

This information has surfaced and I have no reason to doubt it's authenticity:

We are currently in manufacturing 'mp1' phase,building a small number of vehicles at a low rate.This is to maximise product quality as we move to volume production.
-Due to the economic downturn across Europe,production schedules have been significantly reduced at the saarlouis plant where RS is built.As a result,we have decided to DELAY the RS production ramp-up from February to March.
-As a result,the first RS units WILL NOT arrive in the UK until March/early April at THE EARLIEST.
-Dealer orders originally planned February build will be rescheduled and VISTA will be updated with revised build dates as soon as possible.In the meantime,we plan load and transfer the remaining Dealer launch allocations in the next seven days.
-We realise that many Dealers and customers will be dissapointed by this news.Please be assured we are making every effort to ensure the highest quality launch of Focus RS and that vehicles are delivered to you as soon as possible.
